Nutrilite Double X

I believe that everyone should take a multivitamin because it is difficult to get the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals through diet alone. Double X provides your body with 22 essential vitamins and minerals, plus 20 plant concentrates. Double X is plant-based, while most vitamin brands are exclusively formulated with man-made synthetics. Double X helps me live a full, healthy, active life! I invite you to try and see the difference it will make in your energy level.

Don't Quit

When I was forced to make a career change a few years ago one of my co-workers gave me this poem on a magnet. It is a message that can be applied to physical fitness and life in general.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will, when the road you're trudging seems all up hill, when the funds are low and the debt's are high and you want to smile but have to sigh, when care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns, as everyone of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow you may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out the silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and you never can tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems so far, so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit it's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Stress Relief!

We all live in a very challenging world that can create a lot of stress in our lives. I know from personal experience that there is no better stress reliever than exercise. There are many ways that people deal or cope with stress, many of them are unhealthy and eventually lead to even more stress. Choose a form of exercise that you enjoy and then stay consistent with it. You will find that after a good walk/run, ride on the bike or working out at a gym that your mind will become cleaner and you will feel better!

Psycho Psummer Trail Run

When I signed up for this race a couple of months ago I knew I was in for a real challenge because of the course terrain and distance. What I forgot to calculate was how high the humidity can be this time of year! Heat, humidity, rugged course and distance made for a real sense of accomplishment when I finished. Was keeping a good pace until I hit the 10-11 mile mark and my body started to feel the effects of dehydration. From that point on it was "mind over matter" to get the race finished. What a great feeling to work through all of the issues and reach the 15 mi. finish line!!

This is the second race I have ran that has been sponsored by the Trail Nerds. Both have been a great experience. Pre-race meeting was informative, course was well marked, aid stations were stocked and very helpful and the finish line food was tasty. Thank you for all of the work you put into hosting a great event!

Here is some info about the race www.psychowyco.com/id75.html

When attending an event at my son's school this week I came across this sign outside of the gymnasium. Since PE was always my favorite subject it caught my attention!

St. Louis Half Marathon

Had a great time running in the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon. Temps were perfect to run in although rain did fall much of the race. My goal was to finish in under 2 hours but came in at 2:04:29. Was very congested the first part of the race with so many runners which slowed down my pace that I wanted to keep. Still the experience of running with that many runners through the empty streets of St. Louis was quite a cool experience! Next run I have planned will be a 15 mile trail run 4th of July weekend. So I am going to back off of the longer runs for a while to give my body a break.

"Pumping Iron" -- Weight Training

In 1979 I spent the night at a friends house and we watched the movie Pumping Iron on HBO. The next morning we were at the local YMCA "pumping iron"! I can still remember how sore I was the next day!

30 years later I am still lifting weights although for much different reasons than when I started. Initially weight training for me was done to receive attention and make up for youthful insecurities. Now I lift weights to maintain strength and to slow the aging process that happens to our bodies.

I lift weights 3 days a week. Each day I focus on a different group of muscles. Monday - Legs, Wednesday - Chest/Biceps and Friday - Back/Triceps/Shoulders. Each of these workouts only take about an hour.

If you would like details on what exercises I use for each of these muscle groups let me know.

Fat Tire Duathlon -- Devil's Revenge

Had a great time running and riding in the Devils Revenge Duathlon. Weather was great and the trails were perfect. Race started with a 3.75 mile trail run which was ran on mostly rocky, rooty single track. Very challenging and interesting but tons of fun! Then next came an 11.5 mile mountain bike ride. Took a little time to adjust as this was my first ride on single track this year. Sure enjoyed the additional single track that was added for this race. After the bike leg was a quick sprint to the finish. Was very happy that it was a short distance as my body had about enough fun for one day. Finished in 2:04 which I was pleased with. Glad that Chris Locke brought back the Fat Tire Duathlon series this year as it was missed last year.

Pyscho Wyco "Run Toto Run" Trail Run

Had an absolute blast running in the Pyscho Wyco Trail Run. Was a 10.35 mile run. Very chilly morning with the temps in the lower 20's at the start. Trail conditions kept you very focused through out the run. Much of the run was on "bridle trails" or on very rocky, rooty, hilly, uneven terrain. A slight snow covering made the inclines and declines of the trails very treacherous. Finished the run in 2:04. Would like to try the 20 mile run next year.

I always try to have a running or biking event on my calender to train towards. This helps keep me motivated to keep myself in shape in order to not endure to much pain when I participate. Search the Internet for events in your area and get signed up to give you something to work towards.

Vitamins -- Nutrilite

I feel it is very important that you take a multivitamin to supplement your diet. If you are like me it is very hard to maintain a diet that contains all of the nutrients our bodies need.

I have been very pleased with the products made by Nutrilite. Nutrilite is the only global vitamin and mineral brand to grow, harvest, and process plants on its own certified organic farms. I have used the Nutrilite products for about four years now.

You can go to my site at http://www.shudson1.qhealthzone.com/ and click on Vitamins & Supplements.
You have options from a Nutrilite Daily Multivitamin/Multi-mineral, Nutrilite Double X Vitamin/Mineral/Phytonutrient and the Nutrilite Perfect Pack For Your Health. You can click on each one to find out the details.

I have been using the Perfect Pack For Your Health. The 31 day supply actually last 2 months for me as I only take once a day. If there are days that I am feeling a little off I will take a round with both breakfast and lunch.

Hope you give Nutrilite vitamins a try and see if it has a positive effect for you.

No Time To Exercise?

Usually the biggest challenge in regard to exercise is finding time to do it. Most of us watch TV...in fact I find myself watching to much. What I have been doing is trying to tie in my cardio workouts by running on the treadmill or riding my stationary bike while watching TV. Also I stretch daily while watching the evening news. I guess my point is your TV watching time can be a great place to find that window of time needed to exercise. No excuses now!! :)

"What Is A Workout?"

A couple of years ago I found this hanging in a gym and thought it was interesting so I had the owner make me a copy. Have had it hanging in my home gym ever since. Thought I would pass it on...

"What Is A Workout?"

A workout is 25% perspiration and 75% determination. Stated another way it is one part physical exertion and three parts self-discipline, Doing it is easy once you get started.

A workout makes you better that you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind, and toughens the spirit. When you workout regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows.

A workout is personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It is the badge of a winner-the mark of an organized, goal-oriented person who has take charge of his or her destiny.

A workout is a wise use of time and an investment of excellence. It is a way of preparing for life's challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary.

A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to opportunity and success. Hidden within each one of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it.

A workout is a form of rebirth. When you finish a good workout, you don't simply feel better, You feel better about yourself!
